Dear Book Friends,
I didn’t set out to be a dark academy author. Just like I absolutely did not set out to be a K-pop fangirl. And yet. Here we are.
One night I was minding my own business, scrolling YouTube, listening to songs by a Chinese actor I liked. Very normal behavior. Completely under control.
And then the algorithm hit me with Stray Kids. Suddenly my feed was loud. Colorful. Chaotic. Sparkly. Slightly feral in the best way. And honestly? It was exactly what I needed at that point in my life.
From there it was a slippery slope. More groups. More playlists. More “just one more video” at midnight. We are not discussing my growing stash of albums. That’s between me and my bookshelf.
But it got me thinking — sometimes the things we don’t plan for are the things that bring us the most joy.
I didn’t plan on writing elemental shifters. Or mate marks. Or necromancers. Or morally complicated heirs. And yet somehow that also became what I do.
So now I need to know —
